The week commencing 31 Aug saw distinct gains for official information sources within the BrandInsightAI macro dataset. Specifically, gov.uk gained 0.5pp of AI citation share week over week, moving from 0.2% to 0.7%.
This movement was primarily driven by ChatGPT behaviour across the recorded model responses. Additionally, nhs.uk entered the positive movers list with a gain of 0.2pp, reaching 0.3% share.
While public sector sites advanced, google.com lost 1.9pp of AI citation share week over week, falling from 2.6% to 0.8%. This drop was driven by Google AIO model outputs.
Other domains experienced downward pressure in the dataset. reddit.com lost 0.9pp, moving from 2.7% to 1.8% with Gemini as the recorded driver model.
Model stability metrics indicate stark differences in source retention. Grok refreshed 100% of its top-50 sources this week, showing zero overlap with the previous period.
By comparison, Gemini maintained a 32% overlap in its top sources, representing the highest stability among the 6 models covered in the dataset.
